A Carbon Risk Management Company

Eurocarbon LTD works with the scientific commuity, energy and oil industries, financial institutes, investors and project developers to promote innovative low carbon technologies such as cogeneration or Combined Heat and Power (CHP), trigeneration, fuel cell CHP and biomass CHP.

We are able to propose to our clients a more rational approach to the production of electricity by the use of energy efficient low carbon products, where more than 4/5 of the fuel is converted into usable energy.
This results in both financial and environmental benefits; it is also an easy way to save energy, money and reduce your carbon emissions all at once.

MICRO--COMBINED HEAT AND POWER (mCHP), also known as cogeneration, produces heat and power for a residence. The equipment can be located on the property in the basement, underneath the sink, hanging from a wall, or outside. It is basically another household appliance that can provide various residential energy needs—space and water heating, electricity, and potential cooling. It can reduce your energy costs significantly.

The primary fuel for CHP systems can be natural gas, clean oil, coal, biomass, solar concentrators and hydrogen.

It is estimated that 18 million UK households could make cost savings from implementing micro-CHP. This represents as much as 20 GW of electrical capacity and would annually save 1.5 Tonnes of CO2 per household.

  INDUSTRIAL CHP
CHP can provide a secure and highly efficient method of generating electricity and heat at the point of use. Due to the utilisation of heat from electricity generation and the avoidance of transmission losses because electricity is generated on site, CHP typically achieves a 35 per cent reduction in primary energy usage compared with power stations and heat only boilers.

This can allow the host organisation to make economic savings where there is a suitable balance between the heat and power loads. The current mix of CHP installations achieves a reduction of over 30 per cent in CO2 emissions in comparison with generation from coal-fired power stations, and over 10 per cent in comparison with gas fired combined cycle gas turbines. Prime mover, or power generation technologies, include reciprocating engines, microturbines, industrial turbines, and fuel cells
Biomass is ideally suited to CHP, either as a gas or to drive a steam turbine. The utilisation of biomass instead of fossil fuels for CHP makes an environmentally friendly technology even friendlier! If you would like to know more please contact us at info@carbonconsulting.com
